Author: Patrick Hindert is a former president of the National Structured Settlement Trade Association, an industry group representing companies that issue structured settlements (an agreed schedule of periodic payments, generally for the purpose of providing a future income stream, in exchange for an upfront fee.) He is also a former executive director of the Society of Settlement Planners.
