She graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a minor in vocal performance. She graduated from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago with a juris doctor and a specialized certificate in family law. While at DePaul, she participated in the Family Law Clinical Program, representing low-income and indigent clients in domestic relations matters.
