Author: A group blog, Daily Kos is the brainchild of Markos Moulitsas, aka "kos," who created the blog in 2002. Kos is a military veteran and trained, though nonpracticing, lawyer. He is author of the books Taking on the System and Crashing the Gate: Netroots, Grassroots, and the Rise of People-Powered Politics and writes a weekly column for The Hill. Other posters include Daily Kos executive editor Susan Gardner and a number of contributing editors: stay-at-home mother Barbara Morrill; actor and playwright Arjun Jaikumar; novelist Mark Sumner; Dr. Greg Dworkin, chief of pediatric pulmonology and medical director of the pediatric inpatient unit at Danbury Hospital in Danbury, Conn.; Georgia Logothetis, an associate at Arnstein & Lehr in Chicago; Internet consultant Michael Lazzaro; and Laura Clawson, a senior writer at Working America, community affiliate of the AFL-CIO.
