Underneath Their Robes
"News, gossip, and colorful commentary about the federal judiciary." This blawg was relaunched in April 2009 after fizzling out in the fall of 2007. The blog's first incarnation is probably best-known for its Superhotties of the Federal Judiciary contest and the dramatic reveal in the New Yorker of David Lat's authorship. (Initially, Lat blogged here anonymously.)
Author: " 'Clerquette' graduated from an esteemed law school and went on to clerk for a federal judge. Alas, her proximity to judicial finery ended there, and she has toiled in the formerly lush, still well-heeled (but tragically dull) vineyards known as 'Big Law' ever since." And "Article III Groupie" is David Lat, the founder of both this blog and Above the Law, to which he still contributes. Lat is managing editor of Breaking Media, Above the Law's parent company.
