14,307 Lawyers Predict the Future

Most American lawyers expect the recession to affect a broad swath of the legal profession and last for quite some time. Our survey was answered by 14,307 attorneys—more than 1.3 percent of the nation’s 1.1 million lawyers.

The bulk are waaaaaaaay overly optimistic. They can’t see what’s already begun, and what’s coming, because they’re too into it and can’t step back and look objectively.

What a useless article in the absence of context. It would have been helpful to have some sense about the type of practice each respondent had. And since when is 1.3% considered fairly representative. Would you call an election with only 1.3% of the vote in?
