Title: Leaning Green

Who said it’s not easy being green? According to the Dechert law firm, applications for trademarks using the word green more than doubled to over 2,400 between 2006 and 2007.

But that’s not all. Consider the increase in the following green terms:

Clean—Use of the word jumped by 100, to 900.

Eco—“Eco marks” nearly doubled, to 900.

Environment (or some form of the word)—Applications grew to 450 from 325 in the previous year.
