Ohio Mulls Potential Twitter Tweets About Completed Executions

Apr 23, 2010, 05:11 pm CST

The state of Ohio is considering using the social media site Twitter to provide almost instantaneous news of completed executions.

However, a spokeswoman says there is some concern that sending tweets about an executed inmate's time of death might be considered in poor taste, reports the Associated Press.

When convicted murderer and rapist Darryl Durr was put to death at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday by lethal injection, the media received e-mails announcing his death a minute later.
