It wasn't like Von Miller had to go very far to get to court, pointed out Magistrate Christina Apostoli at a Monday hearing.
After all, the Arapahoe County Court hearing was very close to the Denver Broncos' training facility. Nonetheless, he was nearly two hours late, she noted. "The court finds it rather ridiculous he doesn't appear this morning and he's mere blocks away. That's what's made a spectacle of these issues."
Miller finally arrived and pleaded guilty to minor traffic offenses, reports the Denver Post. Details of the misdemeanor plea will be finalized at a later date.
Miller's lawyer, Abraham Hutt, apologized to the court, saying it was his fault that his client was late: He said he had made an agreement with prosecutors to allow Miller to skip the hearing. Apostoli denied this request Friday.
