For young people, transgender life means stress and confusion over restrooms, sports and harassment

No doubt it means all that, which simply serves to show how “transgender life” is a counter-productive abstraction ginned up by those who have taken leave of their senses.  And indeed, one can certainly posit that people still possessed of their senses have a right to refer to the gender-confused according to biological reality, just as nobody is or should be bound to cater to the delusions of addled persons who believe themselves to be forest animals or trees.

@B. McLeod Not only insulting, but inaccurate at just about every level.

If you want to join the debate, there are many very websites you could spend your time reading in order to get yourself acquainted with the most basic scientific (including, but not limited to, biological, physiological, anatomical, genetic, psychological, sociological and cultural aspects) evidence of gender identity and sex.

Here is just one example to whet your appetite.  Most people believe that there are two genetic configurations dealing with sex, that is XX (female) and XY (male).  In fact, there are some 30 other configurations, some of which result in ambiguous genitalia.  In addition, there is condition known as Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, where a person who genetically “male” (XY) nevertheless develops physically with female physical traits.

If you want to become informed, the onus is upon you.

On the other hand, if you simply want to display uninformed prejudice in a derogatory way, then please do us a favour and go an lock yourself into a dark room.  Grown ups are talking, here.

@B McClod. That complicated made up bunch of crap you so readiky dismiss is something called science. Maybe they don’t teach such things where you come from, but here on Earth in 2013 more of us at least review it before spewing an uneducated opinion because like an anus, everyone has one.

B. Mcleod——did your small minded rant make you feel better? Ignorance is bliss, no?

I think I can do without the “science” that can’t tell the difference between a boy and a girl.  It is more like “stupidity.”
