I have a better idea. He should take the amount he had to pay to fix all the things that the homeless people trashed during their stay in his home and donate it to something like Habitat for Humanity. That way he wouldn't have to continually buy new things and some poor people would get something useful out of it, rather than a year to trash his house and then feelings of resentment when they were asked to leave when the year was up.

What is street law? I guess I missed that class in law school. I also missed the class where you learn to foolishly turn over your residence to people who destory things. I'd also be interested in learning what kind of contract he entered into with these folks and how he modified his home owner's policy (premises liability, anyone?) I agree donating to habitat for humanity would be a more prudent and productive use of this guy's money. But different strokes for different folks.
