I still don’t see any of these changes (which could be implemented without ACA) as compelling enough to allow Congress to mandate that all Americans to purchase a product from private for-profit corporations.

What a surprise. The bill was over 2000 pages long. No wonder every little special interest group was able to stick some pet objective into it and slip it by the public. Any bill that is over 100 pages is too damn big to be good law.
We need to scrap the whole thing and start over with a much more limited scope so that the consequences can be better understood.
