Most litigants don’t know the difference. If you oppose what they want, you’re a dirty bastard. As it happens, most lawyers don’t have a lot of room to depart from fixed routines, so our options are pretty much limited to wearing body armor, packing heat and/or hiring goons for security.

I toyed with the idea of making a Kevlar-lined suit jacket years ago, but at the time, you had to be a member of law enforcement to buy the stuff.
