Striking lawyers in Italy prompt delay of Costa Concordia trial

1,000 witnesses? Looks like Italian lawyers may be held at the same level of overall respect there as we are here by our countrymen.

Have there been trials here with anything like that number of witnesses? Don't judges have the authority at some point to disallow cumulative testimony?
