A New Jersey judge has approved a $101 million settlement of a lawsuit filed in the collapse of a parking garage at an Atlantic City casino.

Four workers were killed and 36 others were injured when the garage at the Tropicana Casino Resort collapsed during construction in 2003, the Associated Press reports. The suit named Tropicana and 15 other defendants.

The families “hope this case sends a message to builders and owners that cutting construction corners costs lives,” says Robert J. Mongeluzzi, a lawyer for 11 of the plaintiffs.
