13 V&E Health Care Lawyers Jump to King & Spalding

Thirteen health-care lawyers at Vinson & Elkins, including six partners, are jumping to King & Spalding.
The health-care practice at King & Spalding is the highest-ranked in the country, the Am Law Daily reports. The law firm has been expanding the practice group, also hiring lawyers from Powell Goldstein and Fulbright & Jaworski.
Some partners making the move told the Am Law Daily and Houston Chronicle that they were attracted to King & Spalding in part because it has several lawyers who specialize in Food and Drug Administration work.
Partner Dennis Barry told the Am Law Daily the move is not related to Vinson & Elkins’ strategic reorganization. The firm is beefing up offices in New York and abroad, with a focus on litigation and mergers and acquisitions.
