Arrested yesterday in a felony case for allegedly failing to pay $165,000 in child support, a Florida man is now jailed without bond.

David William Earley's ex-wife Sharon has been pursuing him for child support for 19 years, reports the Tampa Tribune.

However, she isn't necessarily expected even now to see much, if anything, of the money the allegedly unemployed tile layer owes her, according to WFLA.

Earley's current wife says the child support hasn't been paid because there isn't any money to pay it with. His ex-wife says she and the judges he's appeared in front of have heard all the excuses in the book, which Earley, who is now 42, offers with "a nice smile and a very honest look," the station recounts.

"After learning of the case, state Sen. Mike Fasano drafted a bill that would require fathers who fail to pay child support to do a week of work detail wearing a shirt, overalls or vest that reads 'Deadbeat Dad,' " reports Tampa Bay Online.
