$30M Suit Claims Sonnenschein Poached Lawyers from Consulting Firm

A Chicago consulting firm has filed a $30 million lawsuit that claims Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal improperly recruited its lawyers and sought to lure away its clients for the law firm’s new health care consulting practice.
The plaintiff, the Huron Consulting Group, claims in the suit that Sonnenschein health care partner Lisa Murtha oversaw the recruitment of three employees from Huron, where she used to work. The American Lawyer reported on the suit based on a description posted on the website of the Cook County court system, which includes Chicago. Crain’s Chicago Business also has a story.
The online abstract of the suit says it alleges that Murtha "recruited several Huron employees to download company information, solicit Huron clients for Sonnenschein, and to leave Huron."
Sonnenschein says the suit is without merit.
