4-Partner McDermott Benefits Team Joins Proskauer

Four employment benefits partners from McDermott Will & Emery have moved to the Washington, D.C., office of Proskauer Rose, where they started work today.
Although the move required three of the four to join Proskauer as senior counsel rather than partners, his team still was willing to make the move with him, says partner Paul Hamburger because “it just became obvious that the mix of our practices was the way to go,” reports the Blog of Legal Times.
Trevor Chaplick, who heads the Washington office of Proskauer, said the move will help the firm with its planned continuing growth in D.C. The new practice group is the first time Proskauer employment benefits practitioners have been based in Washington, the BLT says.
The partner in charge of McDermott's office in D.C. could not immediately be reached for comment by the law blog.
