Updated: In what may be a drug-related killing, six people, including at least three lawyers, were reportedly murdered yesterday at a law firm in Guadalajara, Mexico. Two women were seriously injured, and one of them died later.

The five men and one woman slain at the law office were found with their hands tied and had been shot in the head at close range, says Reuters. The seventh victim died today.

Media accounts in Mexico said the law firm, Rangel Garcia y Asociados, had high-profile alleged drug smugglers among its clients.

"Brutal killings by drug gang hitmen have continued apace this year, totaling well over 300, as troops and federal police hunt down cartel members in a nationwide crackdown that has intensified turf wars between the gangs," the news agency writes.

Updated at 3:43 p.m., central time, to include news of most recent death.
