A group of law firms across Florida have reportedly banded together to form the Florida Foreclosure Defense Bar Association.

The aspirational aim of the bar group—whose members are bankruptcy and foreclosure lawyers—is to assist families facing foreclosure and give them ready access to information about their rights. The group also intends to be a clearinghouse of information for lawyers looking for successful defenses and strategies.

Michael Wasylik, who is serving as president of the new bar, told the Florida Bar that the number of property owners facing foreclosure is "staggering."

"We created the FFDBA to provide homeowners and others facing foreclosure with the information they need to fight back and protect their homes, and to help the attorneys who represent them provide the best possible legal counsel," Wasylik said.

So far though, there is scant information on the bar's website. The first and last post featured an April program.
