Writing for Law Technology News, Robert Ambrogi has named ABAJournal.com as one of the five most notable legal websites for 2007.

Ambrogi notes that the redesigned website now offers content from the ABA Journal free to the public, with online magazine articles through 2004 and more to come in the future. Legal news stories are updated throughout the day on Law News Now, and the Blawg Directory lists more than 1,600 legal blogs.

The other members of Ambrogi’s top five are:

  1. Avvo.com, the lawyer-rating website.

  2. Public.Resource.Org, which will carry public-domain case law beginning sometime in 2008.

  3. AltLaw, another website with access to case law, a joint project of Columbia Law School and the University of Colorado Law School.

  4. Justia, a free legal research site.

Updated at 1:30 p.m. CT to indicate that ABA Journal's online archives go back through 2004 and that the blawg directory lists more than 1,600 legal blogs.
