Police: Abortion Protesters, Including ‘Jane Roe’, Arrested at Sotomayor Hearing

Updated: Police arrested four abortion opponents, among them Norma McCorvey, aka plaintiff "Jane Roe" of Roe v. Wade, saying they disrupted the Sonia Sotomayor confirmation hearings at the U.S. Senate today in Washington, D.C.
Authorities say a preliminary charge of unlawfully disrupting Congress was filed against Andrew Beacham for shouting "Abortion is murder. Defend life," while Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) was speaking, reports the Indy Channel. They say McCorvey shouted during the statement of Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) that Sotomayor was "wrong about abortion," the Associated Press reported.
An earlier outburst during the hearing, in which another abortion protester reportedly interrupted Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), resulted in the arrest of a Virginia man, Robert James, and Francis Mahoney of Florida on the same charge, the Associated Press reported.
