Affidavit: Wrestler Got ‘Excessive’ Steroids

Before murdering his wife and 7-year-old son and committing suicide at his suburban Atlanta home late last month, professional wrestler Chris Benoit reportedly got "excessive" amounts of steroids using prescriptions from his personal physician.
Doctor Phil Astin, charged yesterday with improperly administering painkillers, prescribed, AP reports, "a 10-month supply of anabolic steroids to Chris Benoit every three to four weeks between May 2006 and May 2007," according to an affidavit filed in the painkillers case. The affidavit also says, the AP article continues, that during a investigation of "RX Weight Loss" the wrestler "was identified as an excessive purchaser of injectable steroids."
Astin has not been charged with supplying steroids to Benoit, although he reportedly has prescribed testosterone for Benoit. An investigation into the deaths is continuing, and toxicology tests have not yet been completed, according to AP.
