Scenic San Francisco, the host of this year’s ABA Annual Meeting, is a favorite for movie producers looking for dramatic on-location shots.

For the lawyers traveling to the City by the Bay this week, we’ve pulled together a gallery of 12 must-see movie sites in San Francisco (see Gallery). Consider it a movie lover’s guide to San Francisco.

The 1973 film The Paper Chase, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, is missing from the list, even though it has a strong San Francisco connection. While the best-selling book and movie take place at Harvard, the book’s author–John Jay Osborn Jr.–hails from the Bay Area and is currently listed as a visiting professor at the University of San Francisco Law School.

A screening of The Paper Chase will take place from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday during the Annual Meeting at the Marriott Marquis.
