The widow of lawyer M. Peter Moser is honoring her late husband with a $1 million gift to the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.

The gift was made by Liz Moser through the Moser Family Philanthropic Fund, the National Law Journal reports. Moser, who died in 2008, was a former treasurer of the American Bar Association and a former president of the American Bar Foundation.

Moser has a Harvard law degree, but he was a Baltimore native, the story says. The money will establish an endowment to fund projects and courses focusing on ethics, pro bono and professionalism.

The University of Maryland law school received a $30 million donation from the W.P. Carey Foundation in April.
