A well-known Minnesota firm has joined the ever-lengthening list of law partnerships making layoffs because of the dismal economy.
Dunlap & Seeger has cut two attorneys and three staff members, due to a reduction in corporate work, reports the Post-Bulletin. The Rochester, Minn., firm now lists 24 lawyers on its Internet attorney roster.
"As far as I know, there has never been a time that there has been a reduction like this due to the economy," says partner Greg Griffiths.

Thank you Ms. Neil, and the ABA Journal, for reporting on a non-BigLaw firm. Though I am extremely sorry to hear the news, it is nice to have some representation of other types of firms at which many of your readers work.

When layoffs have to be considered at small firms, where all the attorneys actually know one another and work in the same office, I think it is really a great deal more difficult than in the large firms.
