A former Illinois Worker’s Compensation Commission arbitrator and three lawyers are facing legal ethics charges concerning alleged misconduct characterized by the Legal Profession Blog as an “ex parte party.”

Plus, in addition to allegedly sending ex parte emails to three lawyers on one side of worker’s comp cases without copying the opposing side, arbitrator Jennifer Teague is also accused in an Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission complaint of withholding hearing dates in a worker’s comp case in an effort to pressure those involved into helping her expedite payment of her own worker’s comp claim against the WCC.

She has since resigned, the Belleville News-Democrat reports. An earlier News-Democrat article says Teague’s worker’s comp claim was for cubital tunnel syndrome.

Complaints by the ARDC against partner Caryn Nadenbush and associate Elizabeth Jane Barringer of Hennessy & Roach and associate Kerry Irene O’Sullivan of Brown & Crouppen in St. Louis provide additional details about the ex parte allegations.
