Matthew Smith is still a second-year student at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. But he's already a name in the news and thinking about potential conflicts of interest.

That's because he already has a celebrity client for whom he's negotiated an estimated three-year, $5 million contract—his dad, Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith, the Chicago Tribune reports.

His dad wanted his son to take over the job because he felt there was no one he could trust more than his son, the article explains. Although Matthew Smith is hoping to establish a sports-related career after he earns his law degree, he also sees representing both athletes and coaches in contract negotiations as problematic and is remaining open to other job possibilities.

"It took me 24 years to earn the trust of my first client," he tells the Trib. "Hopefully, it won't take as long to win over the next."
