Heads of three practice groups at Thelen Reid Brown Raysman & Steiner are moving to Proskauer Rose, along with two associates.

The three, who will be partners in their new 750-lawyer firm’s technology practice group in New York, are: Jeffrey Neuburger, who chaired Thelen’s technology, media and communications department; Robert Freeman, who headed Thelen’s sports practice; and Kristen Mathews, who was at the helm of Thelen’s privacy and data security practice, reports the National Law Journal, in an article reprinted by New York Lawyer (reg. req.).

“Jeff, Rob and Kristen’s practices will be a powerful strategic addition to our already formidable IP, media and technology transactional capabilities,” says Allen Fagin, Proskauer’s chair, in a Business Wire press release. “It’s fair to say that this expansion, which builds on our already substantial capabilities in sports, media and entertainment, privacy and data protection, and digital rights, assures that we are a true destination practice when it comes to our clients’ technology needs.”

As discussed in a previous ABAJournal.com post, Thelen was in the news last week after it lost a 10-lawyer group to a big national employment boutique.
