An eight-partner government contracts group has exited Jenner & Block for Morrison & Foerster offices in the Washington, D.C., area.

Headed by David Churchill and Jay DeVecchio, the group may also include some associates once the dust settles, the Wall Street Journal Law Blog reports.

“The U.S. government buys every good and service you can imagine,” said DeVecchio, and sometimes the contracts involved in making these purchases involve “truly phenomenal amounts he told the newspaper. “If anything can go wrong in any contract, and the government is on one side, somebody is going to need some help.”

Prior to the addition of the Jenner group, the 950-attorney MoFo had two partners in its government contracts and public procurement practice.

Jenner, through a spokeswoman, wished the departing lawyers well.

A MoFo news release provides more details.
