A civil litigation partner at Perkins Coie in Chicago has faithfully attended the trial of media baron Conrad Black in an effort to get quoted in the press.
The plan worked.
The media frequently turned to Hugh Totten for expert comment, according to the National Law Journal. “It mushroomed beyond anything I anticipated,” he says.
Totten’s comments appeared in publications such as the Chicago Tribune, the Financial Times of London, the Globe and Mail in Toronto and Bloomberg News.
Totten hopes the exposure will help attract lawyers to the firm’s Chicago office, which opened just three years ago.
