Two years ago, it was Dominic Barbara’s wife who was arrested after the well-known New York matrimonial lawyer claimed she threw a plate of pasta at him. (The case was later dropped.)

But now it is Barbara himself who is the focus of court attention, after being arrested Tuesday for allegedly violating a protective order by approaching his former spouse in a Long Island bagel shop, WPIX reports.

Charged with criminal contempt, he apparently was not in a good mood as he gazed at Leslie Barbara during a court hearing today concerning the couple’s property settlement:

“Stop staring at her, you are making me nervous,” Judge Richard McCord told the matrimonial attorney at one point. “This is a sensitive matter, you’re expressing emotions. I don’t want it to explode into anything more than that.”

After the judge ordered the two divorcing spouses to work it out, according to Newsday (sub. req.), a pact was reached.

In a joint statement, they said they have reached an agreement on “all matters” and do not anticipate that the courts will hear from them again, WPIX reports.
