Actor Randy Quaid and his wife, Evi, waited too long to file suit over alleged postings by a former attorney on his website, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled today.

Granting a motion to dismiss by attorney Lloyd Braun based on the statute of limitations, Judge Kevin Brazile nixed a suit filed in April 2010. It contended that Braun, who says he last worked for Quaid in 1994 and hasn’t seen him in 16 years, published “gossip” about his former client on an entertainment website, according to the the LA Daily News.

Braun said in court filings that he had negotiated television and movie deals for Quaid, back in the day, and had published news information previously reported by wire services on his website.
