Adam Liptak is a familiar name to readers of New York Times legal coverage.

But the Yale Law School grad and former Cahill Gordon & Reindel associate also has another claim to fame, reports Above the Law:

The author of what a Georgetown Law Journal article terms “the definitive article” on playing the air guitar, Liptak has also been tapped repeatedly as a judge for the U.S. Air Guitar Championships.

“My work as an air guitar judge has deepened my appreciation for the difficulty, dignity and majesty of the task of adjudication,” Liptak, who regularly covers the U.S. Supreme Court, tells ATL.
