Admittedly Very Dangerous, Charles Manson, Architect of 'Helter Skelter' Slayings, Is Denied Parole
In what could be his last parole hearing, notorious serial killer Charles Manson, who recently told a California prison psychologist that he is a very dangerous man, was denied release Wednesday for the 12th consecutive time.
Now 77, Manson will next get another parole hearing when he is 92 years old, according to ABC News and an Associated Press pool report.
“This panel can find nothing good as far as suitability factors go,” said member John Peck during the Corcoran State Prison hearing. He also noted that the panel agrees with Manson’s self-assessment that he is very dangerous.
Manson orchestrated the murder by his followers of pregnant actress Sharon Tate and up to six others in a 1969 killing spree described in prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi’s book Helter Skelter. He has admitted responsibility for five of the slayings.
