After more than 50 years in business, a Casper, Wyo., law firm specializing in oil and gas and corporate matters can’t compete with the larger regional firms that are luring its attorneys elsewhere.

Brown Drew & Massey, which had as many as 20 attorneys on its roster at one point, will dissolve at the end of the year, as its remaining lawyers prepare to take their practices to new locations, too, senior partner Morris Massey tells the Wyoming Business Report.

“Denver and Billings firms have hired away too many attorneys, and there aren’t enough of us to carry the existing overhead,” says Massey.

He plans to form a small firm in the same location, along with Harry Durham and “maybe one or two other attorneys,” in a space that is more affordable.
