After Hollywood Stint, Mass. Prosecutor Returns to the Courtroom

While working as a state and federal prosecutor in Massachusetts and Washington, D.C., Pamela Wechsler got a chance to move to Hollywood and work as a writer and consultant on legal dramas including Law & Order. So she jumped at it.

But now, after seven years, the form Suffolk County prosecutor is back in the courtroom again and loving it, the Lowell Sun reports.

At 50, Wechsler is now working in Lowell Superior Court as a prosecutor for the Middlesex District attorney’s office.

And, although some might perceive Hollywood script-writing as a glamorous job, compared to the daily grind of working as a trial lawyer, “TV has serious deadlines,” she tells the newspaper. “It’s intense, like being on trial.”
