Akerman Senterfitt Opens New Office in Salt Lake with 2 Partners from Van Cott Bagley
Adding another two attorneys to a rapidly growing consumer finance team that has increased by 50 lawyers over the past 12 months, Akerman Senterfitt today announced that it is opening a Salt Lake City office with two former partners of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy.
Robert Scott and Chandler Thompson will focus on consumer finance litigation and compliance matters, the firm announced today in a press release.
“Financial institutions have confronted increasingly complex challenges over the last several years—this last year in particular,” said William Heller, who chairs Akerman’s consumer finance practice group, in the release. “We continue expanding to support our clients nationally in litigation, operations and compliance matters while concentrating on being a centralized and uniform group. Rob Scott and Chad Thompson fit right in, adding to our individual and class litigation experience and geographic reach.”
The firm now has 19 offices in Florida (where 10 of the 19 are located), the Washington, D.C., area (two); Dallas; Denver; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; New York; Salt Lake City; and Madison, Wis.
