Allen & Overy and Singapore's Biggest Law Firm, Allen & Gledhill, Call Off Merger Talks
A renowned London-based international legal partnership and the law firm with the largest attorney roster in Singapore have called off their merger talks.
Saying that they wish to pursue different directions, Allen & Overy and Allen & Gledhill confirmed that they had amicably ended their discussions, reports Bloomberg.
“We will continue to review strategic options to enhance our position in Singapore and Asia,” said managing partner Lucien Wong of Allen & Gledhill in a written statement provided to the news agency. His firm has about 300 lawyers.
An Allen & Overy spokesman said the firm considers its own 60-attorney office in Singapore significant.
