Anna Nicole Smith’s lawyer boyfriend and two of her doctors have been accused of supplying her with prescription drugs, often for no legitimate purpose.
Boyfriend Howard K. Stern was accused of funneling the drugs to Smith from 2004 to January 2007, a few weeks before she died of an overdose, according to the Associated Press and the Los Angeles Times. Doctors Sandeep Kapoor and Khristine Eroshevich were accused of writing the prescriptions.
All were charged in California with conspiracy to provide drugs to an addict and unlawfully prescribing a controlled substance, the Times says.
Stern initially claimed to be the father of Smith’s child, Dannielynn, but gave up custody when DNA tests showed Smith's ex-boyfriend Larry Birkhead was the father.
Adam Braun, an attorney for Eroshevich, a psychiatrist, said his client wrote prescriptions for Smith using false names to protect the star from negative media coverage. Eroshevich treated Smith for postpartum depression the last six months of her life, Braun said.

At best this was a misrepresentation by Stern in that he had drugs prescribed in his own name which were for Anna’s use, but at worst it was a conspiracy between Stern and the doctor to keep an unbelievable stream of prescription drugs in Anna’s hands and to keep her in a drugged up stupor. I can see no reason for a woman of Anna’s age to have been on so many medications and so it is only natural to suspect foul play in such a situation. I am glad that law enforcement is finally pursuing this angle of Anna’s death and I hope that some closure is brought to the situation. As a sort of double whammy, this will certainly make it much harder for Stern to further the claim of Anna’s estate in its frivolous challenge of J. Howard Marshall’s will. Nothing in Marshall’s will was ambiguous, Anna was expressly excluded and that should be the end of it, I have faith that the 9th circuit will rule accordingly and this whole circus can finally end.

Hi - My name is Fran, and I have followed this case from almost the beginning. I remember Daniel telling people that Howard Stern was continually giving his mother drugs, and that Daniel was afraid of Howard. I do agree that Anna had some ailments and psychiatric issues, but to what extend was the medication overprescribed. I take medication, but it is always in my name. Even though I do think that Anna Nicole was a very strong woman, the video that Howard Stern filming her as a mushroom and making fun of her was just utterly disgusting. Daniel also stated that whenever he called the house, Howard Stern had instructed the help not to put through Daniel’s calls to Anna. She grew up with Daniel, and the loss of him, put her into grave depression. I personally think that Howard kept giving her the pills, so that she would constantly need him. I think the only people he wanted around was Anna, and Daniellyn, which he knew wasn’t his child. The medications in the refrigerator in Florida had Howard Stern’s name on them. Now on the day that Anna died, it was reported I think by Doctor Purpura (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) that Howard Stern said on the morning of her death, that Anna was so weak, and asked him to help her to the bathroom. He did, but forget to check on her after he took a shower, and just left to make the final arrangements for the boat. Obviously, it turned out that the doctors (whose licenses should be suspened) did’n't check on her either. I always thought that Howard had something to do with Daniel’s death. I am heartbroken that both Anna, and her beloved son Daniel are no longer with her. I read that Howard Stern does not have any money, so let him get it from his buddy Larry Birkhead. JUSTICE FOR ANNA AND DANIEL!!!!!!!

A grave depression indeed. But, it is the function and value of the grave to take us, when there is nothing of worth left to our lives. It is the ultimate oxycontin. This young lady trusted the wrong people, and had weight problems, drug problems, psychiatric and social problems (and, in recent years, she looked like she had false teeth as well). She had an early life of obscurity, and, despite great success marketing her sex appeal, never seemed to get any happiness with the money. She came into the world with nothing, and with nothing, she went from it. One, little child is left, to try to realize something of value from it all.
