Applications are up 20 percent this year at the University of Virginia School of Law, due to a surge in out-of-state applicants.
A record 7,850 applicants are seeking one of approximately 350 spots in the class that will graduate in 2012, reports WVIR, an NBC affiliate.
“This will be without a doubt the most difficult year on record to gain admission into UVA Law,” says Jason Wu Trujillo, the school's senior assistant dean for admissions. "I wouldn't let myself in at this point."

They have an admissions dean smart enough to post himself out.
