As Nation Swelters, Law Firm Workers Keep Winter Gear at Hand to Deal with Arctic Indoor Temps

It may be nearly 100 degrees outside. But for those working inside at law firms, among other businesses, the challenge can be keeping warm rather than keeping cool.
Katherine Jackson, an assistant in the Kansas City offices of Bryan Cave, has not only a jacket but gloves at hand to deal with air conditioning so efficient that it makes summer in the city seem more like winter, reports the Kansas City Star.
And she’s far from the only one struggling to deal with the summer chill.
“I have a blanket in my drawer and a hoodie that has fur on the inside on the back of my chair,” paralegal Jennifer Sears of nearby Martin Leigh, Laws & Fritzlen tells the newspaper. “The funny thing is, in the winter it’s really hot ’cause they have the heat up. So we have to wear summer clothes in the winter and winter clothes in the summer.”
