Ohio Assistant Attorney General Among the Injured in Stabbing Spree; Suspect Is Shot by Police
An Ohio assistant attorney general was among four persons stabbed in Columbus on Wednesday by a knife-wielding man in an office building.
The unidentified suspect was shot by police outside the building, report the Columbus Dispatch and the Associated Press. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police said he had three knives.
Three of the four victims were also critically injured, including assistant attorney general Jeffrey Maloon, 53. The 25-story building housed some attorney general offices and the Miami-Jacobs Career College. Two victims were students or staff members at the school, while Maloon and another victim were in the lobby when the stabbings occurred.
Maloon is identified online as a construction litigation attorney with 25 years of experience.
One victim who was critically injured, Donte’ Dunnagan, tried to disarm the attacker, his girlfriend told the Dispatch. He was a financial aid assistant at the college and a part time professional wrestler who uses the name “Dangerous’ Damien Kass.”
