Atlanta Attorney’s TB Isn’t That Serious

An Atlanta attorney whose international air travel recently caused consternation after the public was told he is infected with a rare--and particularly deadly--form of TB actually isn't all that sick.

The form of tuberculosis that Andrew Speaker is infected with isn't as resistant to drugs as initially thought, his doctors announced today. Plus, physicians said earlier, he isn't likely to have infected anyone during his air travel, reports the New York Times.

Speaker's return to the U.S., via Canada, where he had flown from Europe after his marriage and honeymoon there, reportedly violated quarantine instructions he was given by doctors involved with his case. However, he has said he was not told he would endanger the health of other passengers by flying home from Europe.
