Bad Legal Job Market for 2010 Grads Could Get Worse in 2011, NALP Exec Says
Think new law grads are having a hard time in a dismal economy?
Next year’s legal employment market for those who earn a juris doctor degree in 2011 could well be even worse, predicts the executive director of the National Association for Law Placement.
While the statistics won’t be available for some time, Jim Leipold tells U.S. News & World Report that he’s not expecting good news.
“The class of 2012 will be the first class for which we might see some kind of uptick in employment,” says Leipold, who is a research analyst. “I’m not making a prediction that it will recover in 2012; I’m saying it probably won’t recover much before then.”
