Five lawyers have left Edwards Wildman Palmer to join the Chicago office of BakerHostetler, their new firm announced Tuesday.

They are litigators Craig White, a partner, and counsel Matt Caccamo, and intellectual property practitioners John Letchinger, Douglas Rupert and Derek Campbell. Campbell is an associate; the other two IP lawyers are partners.

“These hires send a significant message about our capabilities as a national law firm with a strong and strategic presence in the Chicago market,” said Ronald S. Okada, who serves as partner-in-charge of the Chicago office, in the release. “We are very happy to be adding IP litigation and core patent expertise to the Chicago office, as well as expanding our talented group of trial lawyers.”

BakerHostetler has nearly 900 lawyers in 14 offices; Edwards Wildman has 600 attorneys in 16 offices.
