Three bankruptcy partners from Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft, including the co-chairs of the practice group, are headed to O’Melveny & Myers.

In a Tuesday announcement, O’Melveny said that co-chairs John J. Rapisarsdi and George A. Davis would serve in the same role at their new firm, working out of its New York offices. The third partner, Peter Friedman, will work out of Washington, D.C. All three partners joined Cadwalader six years ago from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, New York Times’ DealBook blog reports.

In a Monday press release (PDF), Cadwalader wished the departing lawyers well and announced the new co-chairs of the firm’s bankruptcy practice. They are Gregory M. Petrick, who had been in charge of its European and Asian bankruptcy practice and also serves as managing partner of the London office, and bankruptcy partner Mark C. Ellenberg of the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. Two new bankruptcy partners are also joining the firm’s London office.
