Renowned baseball pitcher Roger Clemens has been federally indicted on charges he lied to Congress about using performance-enhancing drugs.

He is accused of obstruction of Congress, making false statements and perjury concerning his testimony in February 2008 to the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, reports the Washington Post.

The newspaper also provides a copy of the indictment in the District of Columbia case.

Attorney Rusty Hardin of Texas, who represents Clemens, told the Post in an e-mail that “we have heard nothing from the government.”
