A 48-year-old Beverly Hills criminal defense attorney has pleaded no contest to a single count of taking drugs into jail, as part of a plea bargain over his alleged attempt to smuggle black tar heroin into the downtown Los Angeles courthouse.

Under the agreement, Michael Inman will get four months in jail and three years of probation in the Los Angeles Superior Court case, the L.A. Now blog of the Los Angeles Times reported.

Three other felony counts—possession of a controlled substance in a jail, possession for sale of a controlled substance and sale or transportation of a controlled substance—will be dismissed.

An earlier ABAjournal.com post notes that Inman was nabbed by a drug-sniffing dog.
