Biggest-Bucks Divorce in UK History? Madonna and Guy Ritchie Split
It’s apparently all over between Madonna and Guy Ritchie, who have reportedly separated in a split that is likely to cost the material girl big bucks.
Depending on whether the divorce case goes forward in the United Kingdom or the United States, the British film director can expect as much as $172 million or so, experts tell the Independent. The couple reportedly did not have a prenuptial agreement, and Ritchie, who is wealthy in his own right but not nearly as wealthy as the superstar pop singer, is expected to do better in a British court.
Fiona Shackleton, the British divorce lawyer who represented ex-Beatle Paul McCartney in his recent divorce from Heather Mills, reportedly is now representing the American singer in her divorce from Ritchie, the newspaper writes. The divorce settlement, which is expected to be the largest ever in the U.K., if the divorce goes forward there, potentially could dwarf the approximately $50 million that Mills got in her divorce from from McCartney.
Madonna and Ritchie own homes in London, New York and California. Her full legal name is Madonna Louise Ciccone Ritchie.
